Science fiction enthusiasts are bound to know Terminator. It is a cult work of its kind. Perfectly suited for the big screen. Today, Netflix is preparing to offer new content, this time in an animated series. To the delight of fans, and the curious. Here is without further delay what we currently know.
Netflix is working on a Terminator animated series
To date, many films have already emerged in the Terminator license. There has also been a TV series based on this franchise and if you are a fan of this universe you are in luck as Netflix has just announced the start of an animated series project based on Terminator.
For now, very little is known about this series, but it will be created in partnership with Skydance, the studio that produced the last two Terminator films. Another studio in to participate in this project, Production LG, with whom Netflix had worked in the past and which had already created other animated series.
The war between humans and machines is far from over
According to John Derderian, vice president of Netflix Japan and Anime, “Terminator is one of the most iconic sci-fi stories ever created and it has grown steadily around the world over the years. This new animated series will explore this universe in a way that has never been addressed before. We can’t wait for fans to experience this fascinating new chapter in this epic battle between machines and humans.”
Netflix has been quite aggressive in producing animated series. Not so long ago, the platform announced that it would very soon offer an animated series based on Dota 2. Rumors also mentioned the existence of a series project around the cult license of Nintendo Zelda.
The most terrifying killing machine in sci-fi history is back, just like it promised. Project Power’s Mattson Tomlin and legendary anime studio Production I.G are teaming up for an animated series set in the Terminator universe.
