This will be one of the actress’ miniseries projects with the television network owned by Warner Bros., after the success of “Mare of Easttown.”

HBO has released a long-awaited first look at the limited series The Palace, in which Kate Winslet (Titanic) returns to work with the Warner Bros. Discovery television platform, casting the British actress as a stunning woman. The story was created by Will Tracy, the same creative mind behind The Menu (starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult) who worked on Succession, among others. The new fiction tells the story of a year within the palace walls of a modern European regime, as it begins to crumble. It is currently in production in Austria and is known to continue in the UK. Winslet, in addition to starring, also serves as an executive producer.

With The Palace, the 46-year-old British actress would complete four audiovisual projects with HBO, whose two Emmy awards fully bear the platform’s seal. The first is for her performance in the miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011), directed by Todd Haynes, and the second, ten years later, for the triumphant story of Mare of Easttown, led by Brad Ingelsby. The other project is The Trust, in which she will also be the protagonist.

Already announced the cast of her with Winslet as the main character, she is joined by Matthias Schoenaerts (Django), Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough (Netflix’s Matilda), Martha Plimpton (Mass) and Hugh Grant (The Undoing).

The Palace is directed by Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs. Tracy also serves as executive producer alongside Kate, Frears, Frank Rich and Tracey Seaward. Other names behind the script include Seth Reiss, Juli Weiner, Jen Spyra, Gary Shteyngart, and Sarah DeLappe.
