After letting us see a first image, Legendary Pictures has not taken too long to release the first trailer for John Wick 4. In fact, the production company took advantage of the Comic-Con 2022 spotlight to, once again, raise the expectation that exists for the feature film, which will again star Keanu Reeves and led by Chad Stahelski.
As expected, the trailer for John Wick 4 comes with full of action and violence. Gunshots, explosions, blows and a lot of blood are the ingredients that allowed the first three films to succeed, and with the fourth installment they will not take their foot off the accelerator for a single second.
In addition, the advance shows us several of the new actors who joined the cast. Not only allies of John Wick, but also antagonists who will not rest in their attempt to hunt down the renowned murderer.
Among the new faces, the Japanese Hiroyuki Sanada stands out, whom you may recognize from his participation in Mortal Kombat (2021) and Army of the Dead (2021). He is a martial artist, so the combat scenes of his character, named Watanabe, are more than guaranteed.
Of course, we do not know exactly what his role will be in John Wick 4. Interestingly, he was booked as the villain of the third film, but a problem with his schedule did not allow him to participate.
What we do have a clear glimpse of is the character played by Bill Skarsgård. The trailer makes it clear that he is the main antagonist of John Wick 4.
“I think the movies are very entertaining. I’ve always been a fan of these kinds of explosive, over-the-top action films. Chad Stahelski came up to me and was with him several times, and I really liked him. It was a very fun role. I like the John Wick movies because I think they’re entertaining and they’re something he hadn’t done before,” the actor told Collider.
Skarsgård himself said that the shooting of John Wick 4 is being carried out in different countries: the United States, Japan, Jordan, France and Germany.
Another actor who will appear in John Wick 4 is Donnie Yen, who will supposedly play a former friend and ally of John Wick. We will also see Shamier Anderson, Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins and Clancy Brown. Of course, returning regulars Ian McShane, Lauren Fishburne, and Lance Reddick, among others.
After multiple delays, John Wick 4 will finally premiere on March 24 of 2023.
