The last few weeks have been, to say the least, hectic for Warner Bros. Discovery in general and DC Studios in particular. One of the figures in the midst of that storm is Dwayne Johnson.

The film was released in theaters in full transition between the old DC Films and the current DC Studios, which has meant a series of organizational changes for the future of the DC Universe that affects various characters, such as Henry Cavill’s Superman or the Wonder Woman by Gal Gadot.

Despite the fact that Black Adam is succeeding on HBO Max, the film’s box office performance has put the actor at the epicenter of an earthquake where numerous rumors have intervened. Of the last ones, it has been that Dwayne Johnson had stopped following the Warner and DC accounts on Instagram.

There is no bad blood between Dwayne Johnson and DC Studios

The actor has turned to Twitter to deny, through a response to Brandon Davis (of Comicbook) such rumors, explaining that he had never followed either of the two accounts on Instagram.

The future of the DC Universe is yet to be defined. Without Henry Cavill as Superman, James Gunn is looking for a younger iteration of the character for his next movie.

In addition, DC Studios has yet to lay out its 10-year plan to combine DC movies, series, animation, and video games.

At this time, it’s unclear whether or not Black Adam is part of the studio’s plans for the future. The Rock’s refusal to take on Zachary Levi’s Shazam doesn’t help, even though the two characters are essentially arch-enemies in the comics.

Do you think Dwayne Johnson will continue in the DC Universe when the plans for the next decade are revealed? Could Black Adam have been the little lady in the shoe of The Rock’s success?
