Valve boss Gabe Newell commented on the situation around Cyberpunk 2077 in a recent interview. In an interview with globelivemedia.com he expressed his sympathy for CD Projekt Red and added that there are many happy PC players. Cyberpunk 2077 is a top-class game on the PC, as you can read in our test. On PS4 and Xbox One, CDPR’s current work is suffering from performance problems, low resolutions and graphics errors – updates are in progress. “I understand a situation game developers find themselves in,” Newell said.
“I know that there are many happy players in the PC area who are most visible to us,” says the Valve boss, adding, “There are aspects of the game that are just brilliant. It shows how much work is going on stuck in the game – it’s unfair to throw stones at other developers. Because to get something so complex and ambitious off the ground is really amazing. ”
Sony had meanwhile decided to use the PlayStation version of Cyberpunk 2077 (buy now 59,49 €) from PlayStation Store and no longer available for purchase. According to Newell, Steam was not involved in these conversations, but he believes that this was an “unusual” step.
