Cyberpunk 2077 is finally getting rid of its Takemura bug.

What an emotional roller coaster. Patch 1.1 fixed umpteen quest bugs in Cyberpunk 2077 – actually a good thing – but at the same time it gave the game a new problem: the Takemura bug. This serious mistake not only made an essential quest unplayable, it also prevents any progress in the rest of the game. The community found workarounds, but CD Projekt is now taking care of it itself.

The latest hotfix 1.11 fixes the Takemura bug, among other things, but also takes care of another problem that you may have pissed off while playing. Let’s take a look at this.

Hotfix 1.11 in Cyberpunk 2077

The hotfix takes care of the two biggest problems caused by Patch 1.1:

  • The Takemura bug will be fixed: The phone call in the main quest “Down on the Street” should now run normally.
  • The loot system is reset: The random generation of loot now works as before patch 1.1. You can reroll the properties of loot again by saving and reloading.

What was the problem anyway?

The Takemura bug caused a phone call with V’s comrade Takemura to derail during the main quest “Down on the Street”. Takemura calls, but the sound does not play and the line remains open. For all time. This also makes it impossible to continue playing other quests.

The loot system also caused problems: Before patch 1.1 it was possible to reroll the values (i.e. mod slots) of Loot by reloading before you pick up an object from the ground. This was necessary for legendary armor, because the sale of materials by dealers is currently causing bug problems, which means that there are only limited possibilities to maximize the values of your own equipment. Long story short: the exploit is now working again, but CD Projekt will endeavor to tackle the problem at the root in the near future.
