The mother of the 11-year-old boy Caleb Ingelhart who was hit and dragged by a van in Aurora speaks on camera and tells about her son’s current health status.
“He is fighting for his life and he is in so much pain that he cried for more than an hour and a half, I feel bad because I cannot do anything to help him,” said the mother.
The boy suffers a skull fracture, brain hemorrhage, broken bones, trauma to the tendons of the neck and other injuries that have him in great pain, according to his mother.
Investigators say the boy and his bicycle were trapped under the vehicle and both were dragged a considerable distance.
According to Caleb’s mother, if he continues to evolve the way he is doing, she thinks that in a few weeks he will be discharged.
The boy was crossing the street when he was hit and dragged a considerable distance before the driver realized what happened and stopped, according to witnesses.
Driver, Héctor Eduardo García, 32 years old, was arrested for vehicular assault, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license and failing to yield to a pedestrian.
