Marko Cortés questioned the anti-inflationary measures of the AMLO government (PAN)

The President of the National Action Party (PAN), Marko Cortes Mendoza, once again questioned the economic policies promoted by the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), which he described as a “failure” because they did not stop the rise in inflation .

Through a press release, the PAN member said that the Mexican economy recorded his “worst slope of January” in this 2023, due to the fact that the annualized inflation is 7.91%, while the interest rate has been recorded at 11%, which is why he warned that, if the necessary measures are not taken , it will not be possible to stop the constant rise in product prices.

“Inflation has a strong impact on those who have less and is a clear indicator that the economy does not make sense. It is a blow that quantifies a reality that we live on a daily basis, money is not enough for the working class in the face of the constant rise in prices, we spend more and we buy less”, could we read this Sunday, 12 February.

Likewise, he reiterated that none of the measures put in place over the past four years have been sufficient to control the increase in prices, which is why he indicated that change will only happen when citizens decide correct course and change the party currently in power, ie the National Regeneration Movement (Morena).

The above was supported by pointing out that, presumably, the Mexican President has once again launched himself against a constitutionally autonomous body, in this case the Bank of Mexico (Banxico), calling it “Orthodox”, while ensuring that inflation is not alarming in the country.

“The president is not alarmed that millions of families are affected, he does not care that the price of eggs goes up to 58 pesos in supply centers, that the value of chicken skyrockets”

However, he pointed out that inflation is a problem that concerns everyone; although he clarified that It’s “to those who have less” those he touches the most, because the salaries are not enough to carry out various activities.

His remarks did not stop there, as he also said that if the necessary policies are not created, then investment projects with positive projections cannot be developed, since he indicated that the One of the main concerns of the PAN is that Thus, economic growth cannot be generated. it was promised

“If we Mexicans want our salaries to increase, for prices not to continue to rise, for us to have a better quality of life, for there to be investments, for the economy to develop, there needs to be a change of course in the country in 2024 which National Action is determined to carry outr”, condemning Cortés Mendoza.

All this led him to defend the initiative of the Provident Fund against inflation presented by the parliamentary group PAN in the Chamber of Deputies, which he detailed as a project aimed at supporting Mexicans in their personal economy in the face of ” there irresponsibility and indifference of the government”.

“The PAN responds to the demands of those who need it most. We hope there is responsibility and consensus to promote these emerging measures that relieve the economic situation of families “

He added that such a proposal aims protect people’s income when there are long periods of inflation and which consists of a temporary subsidy for workerswhile micro and small enterprises that produce basic goods, coupled with a reform of the electricity industry law so that the rate can be reduced.
