COEN warned that the rains would continue until Thursday 16 March.

The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (senamhi) was responsible for keeping the population informed of the effects of the Cyclone Yaku. In the morning, the entity confirmed that precipitation will be registered in the coastal, mountainous and jungle areas of the country, the most intense being those that will fall on the northern and central coast, including the capital.

The report valid from 1:00 p.m. on March 14 until 24 hours later, indicates that moderate to heavy rains are expected on the coast of fallen down there piura, two regions where casualties and deaths have already been recorded. The night of March 13 was characterized by a rain of about six hours which caused the activation of various waterways. In Chaclacayo, the flow invaded the tracks, sidewalks and some houses. Neighbors who managed to react quickly built walls with sandbags to prevent the structures of their houses from being damaged.
