‘Vikings’ is 10 years old: the beginning of the series and where you can see it in full

It was in 2013 that a series relating the life of the Viking people landed on television. Thus, he comes into contact with an expert and somewhat unstable shipbuilder such as Floki (Gustaf Skarsgård) who becomes a pivotal piece in Ragnar’s eventually becoming the Vikings’ most powerful conquering warrior.

Ragnar then decides to go out into the world because he is frustrated by the politics of Earl Haraldson (Gabriel Byrne), who was reluctant to conquer the uncharted lands of the west. With the support of his wife Lagetha and his inner strength, they manage to overthrow this king and Ragnar becomes the leader of the Vikings. But this series not only covered the universe of wars and clashes but also introduced the audience to the Vikings way of life, mythology and beliefs. She was also responsible for showing the role of women at the time and the clashes of their religion with the Catholicism that reigned at that time in what would later be England.

It was a series that undoubtedly marked television and the way of telling the stories of the people who started the world as it is known today. A neat story in each of its scenes where it has not been contaminated by any current vision of the 21st century, where psychoanalysis has made family ties understood differently (to name but one). The conquest and struggles for power, adding to the desire within the family, the desire to be masters of the world and this ephemeral look at earthly life gave this story a different imprint which marked the universe of the series.
