United take on Real Betis in the Europa League round of 16

NYON, Switzerland (AP) — Manchester United will face Real Betis in the Europa League Round of 16 after Friday’s draw, giving the 2017 champions another Spanish rival after knocking out Barcelona.

United will host the first leg at Old Trafford on March 9.

Shakhtar Donetsk, the only Ukrainian team remaining in all European competitions, will face Feyenoord. Shakhtar will host the first leg in Poland due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Premier League leaders Arsenal will face Sporting Lisbon, the first leg will be in Portugal.

Arsenal were seeded in the draw because they were one of eight Europa League group stage winners and those teams play the second leg at home. Unclassified teams receive the first leg at home in the round of 16 aggregate, which involves clubs that finished second in the Europa League and those that finished third in their Champions League groups.

Juventus will take on Freiburg and six-time Europa League champions Sevilla will host Fenerbahçe. Union Berlin will meet Union Saint-Gilloise, after meeting twice in the group stage.

José Mourinho’s Roma will take on Real Sociedad, while Bayer Leverkusen take on Ferencváros, who will host the second leg at Budapest’s Puskas Arena, the venue for the Europa League final on May 31.

In the Europa Conference League Round of 16, Villarreal – last year’s Champions League semi-finalists – face Anderlecht and Fiorentina host the first leg against Sivasspor.

Elsewhere, West Ham travel to Cyprus for the first leg against AEK Larnaca, Sheriff host Nice in Moldova and Lazio host AZ Alkmaar possibly on May 7 to avoid a clash with Roma at the Olympic Stadium in the Europa League.

Also: Lech Poznań vs. Djurgarden; Basel vs. Slovak Bratislava; and Gent vs. Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Europa Conference League final is scheduled for June 7 in Prague.
