Ukraine registered 19,118 new cases of covid-19 in the last twenty-four hours, 48% more than in the previous day, the Ukrainian health authorities reported on Tuesday.
According to the daily statement from the Ukrainian Ministry of Health, 161 covid-19 patients have died, bringing the number of deaths from coronavirus to 99,443 since the start of the pandemic.
Of the new reported infections, 2,809 correspond to children and 594 to workers in the health sector.
Last day, 1,507 patients with covid-19 were hospitalized, while 5,863 recovered from the disease.
Ukraine, with about 42 million inhabitants, has accumulated almost 3.9 million confirmed cases since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic.
According to Health, more than 14.4 million Ukrainians have been vaccinated with the full schedule, of which 225,868 have received a booster dose.
