José Vidal Pereira, 31, of Manassas, and Darren Nathaniel Davis, 36, were arrested Wednesday night in connection with the death of Charles Bopp III, 24.

The authorities of Fauquier County, Virginia, have announced the identification and arrest of two other individuals for the murder of the man, the son of a former police officer in the jurisdiction, during an attempted robbery of his home .

José Vidal Pereira, 31, of Manassas, and Darren Nathaniel Davis, 36, were arrested Wednesday night in connection with the death of Charles Bopp III.

Vidal Pereira and Davis face charges of murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and use of a weapon. They are both in the Fauquier County Detention Center without bond.

Bopp, 24, was found dead Wednesday in the front yard of his home, located on Freemans Ford Road in the town of Remington, the Sheriff’s Office reported. Detectives believe he was shot while trying to stop a burglary at his home.

Already a woman and a man had been apprehended in connection with the incident. Jury Beatrice Guerra, 28, of Woodbridge, was arrested early Sunday and is being held without bail.

Martin Anuar Martínez, 30, was arrested Monday in the town of Pecos , Texas, by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the El Paso office and with the assistance of local and state police. He is expected to be extradited to Virginia soon.

Bopp was the son of Major Charles W. Bopp Jr., who retired from the local public security force last year. As of now, there are no indications to suggest that he was specifically the target of the assault, according to the Sheriff’s office.
