A man who had disappeared in Turkey accidentally joined a missing persons search party only to realize hours later that he was the one they were trying to find.
According to local media, Beyhan Happy had been drinking with friends last Tuesday when he absentmindedly wandered into a forest in Bursa province.
When he did not return home, his wife and friends called the local authorities, who sent a search party.
Mutlu, 50, stumbled upon the group and decided to join, the NTV channel reported.
But when members of the search party started shouting his name, he replied: “Here I am”.
In the İnegöl district of Bursa, a person named Beyhan Mutlu searched for himself for hours, assuming that the search efforts initiated for him were for someone else.
The teams prepared a report about the search and left the missing person at his home. pic.twitter.com/yhVaPSh7wY

One of the group’s coordinators put him aside for a statement to the police.
“Don’t give me a harsh punishment, officer. My father will kill me”, the media that responded to him reported.
Police later drove Mutlu home, as the tweet above relates. It did not transpire if he was fined to create confusion or not.
