Four people were killed and a private helicopter was set on fire on a property in the town of Agua Buena, in the municipality of Tamasopo , reported the Attorney General of the state of San Luis Potosí.

The events were reported this Friday morning; The prosecutor’s office began investigations into the homicide of the people and the burning of the aircraft. The unit detailed that the bodies of the four people were handcuffed. Personnel from the Investigative Police (PDI) and the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) went to the scene to begin the proceedings.

According to the first indications, the helicopter, which provided tourist services, was not shot down, nor did it fall, but was presumably set on fire on the spot.

In a statement, the prosecution said that forensic services found some cardboard with criminal messages. The bodies of the victims were transferred to the Legal Medical Service (Semele) to find out the real cause of death , through the autopsy, and the Investigative Police is working on their identification.

Elements of the PDI, Sedena and the state Civil Guard carry out a search operation in the area to find those responsible, while the prosecution continues the investigations in order to know the motive for the events.

On June 9, the San Luis Potosí Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation folder for the discovery of seven bodies in the El Jabalí community, in the municipality of Aquismón.

According to figures from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System ( SESNSP ), in 2021 San Luis Potosí registered 740 investigation folders for the crime of intentional homicide , 4,670 for injuries and 24 for femicide.

Until May of this year , the entity registers 296 investigation folders for intentional homicide, 1,917 for injuries and five for femicide.

Between January and April 2022, Mexico registered 9 thousand 895 intentional homicides, which means that there was a reduction in this crime of 12.86% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, according to figures from the report of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System (SESNSP).
