Two prosecutors from Public minister arrived this morning at the administrative offices of the Congress of the Republic to collect information on the case of the alleged overvaluation of the parliamentarians’ buffet contract during plenary sessions. The building is located in block 5 of downtown Lima.

He buffet scandal was one of the first questions about the current administration of Parliament, as a contract had been signed with a concessionaire for an amount of more than 2 million soles to be responsible for offering the new “premium menu” to parliamentarians each time plenary sessions of the Congress take place.

For this service, which was paid for by Congress, about 190 soles per day were spent, whereas before the cost was only 15 soles.
