This was reported by the Lima and Callao Urban Transport Authority (ATU) through his social networks and indicated that he sought to provide a safe and reliable option and thus avoid the use of informal transport.

The ‘Lechucero’ begins its journey on Dos de Mayo street in the neighborhood of miraflores, continue on Arequipa Avenue and then on Garcilaso de la Vega Avenue. The route continues along Tacna, Prolongación Tacna and Alcázar avenues to the ‘Lomas del Rímac’ condominium complex, in the neighborhood of Rimac. The return route is the same and has 64 stops in total.

The ATU urged users to plan their night trips and reminded that the bus interval is 10 minutes. Likewise, to use the service it is necessary to have a recharged Metropolitan or Lima Pass card.

A few days ago, the ATU announced that soon the payment of the ticket for the transport services of the Metropolitan and Metro of Lima can be realized via digital wallets Yape and Plin.

He indicated that this measure is in his plans as part of the technological update in the payment system and that it is expected to have the collection settlement in a few months. “This obligation will be materialized when we publish the authorization regulations and the single collection system regulations, which we hope to have ready within the next three months,” he said. According to Association of Banks of Peru (Asbanc) there are approximately 23.5 million users of digital wallets and the most used are Yape del BCP and Plin, which allow immediate interbank transfers between BBVA, Scotiabank, Interbank, BanBif, Caja Arequipa, Caja Sullana and Caja Ica.

During 2022, ATU staff carried out a total of 116,000 62 inspection actions to verify compliance with the obligations of carriers and drivers. 73 thousand 299 offenses were identified and 4,727 vehicle units were sent to the warehouse as part of the preventive internment measure.
