The head of European diplomacy asked to speed up the sending of tanks to Ukraine: “The war will be decided this spring and this summer”

For Borrell, the military situation on the ground is “worrying” for Ukraine, since Russia now has 360,000 troops on Ukrainian territory, more than in previous phases of the war. Amid the debate over Europe’s increased military weight, Borrell said he was guided by “realism” and that the EU was not living a “doves and hawks” debate. “I don’t have a fighting spirit, but we have to discuss how to achieve peace and for that we have to continue to support Ukraine militarily, more than we have done so far” , he explained.
