Eva, the first woman to arrive at an all-male school in the mid-1970s and will change everyone’s life.

The first time is a series that arrived on the platform from Colombia and focuses on the experiences of a group of young teenagers in full sexual awakening during their school years. As it is a school with male students, the arrival of a young girl will revolutionize the place. Eva Samper (Francisca Estévez Navas) then lands in this boys’ school, thus inaugurating the first female presence in the establishment.

The series with a voice-over story by Camilo Granados (Emmanuel Restrepo), one of the students, warns the viewer that Eva was the first woman he fell in love with. While Eva is confident, determined and expressly feminist, Camilo is shy, dubious and shocked by the presence of this girl who steals his heart from the first moment.

“While Camilo unsuccessfully tries to win her over, Eva turns the world of the school in the Jose María Root district upside down when she teaches her classmates all about sex, love, pleasures and real life. “, states the official synopsis and amplifies: “Without, Camilo discovers that Eva is keeping locked a dark secret that could separate them forever, and now he will have to fight not to spoil what could be his first experience. in love: his first great love.

School Days shows a diverse group of students being told off with a sometimes quite irritating voiceover. His explanation of obvious things makes the scenes ruined by so much data.

All 13 episodes of the series are named after clearly identifiable works of literature or characters from different books. Among them are The Lady of the Camellias, Siddhartha, Thus Spoke Zarathustra or The Heart-Catcher. It also brings the viewer closer to the literature of Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Octavio Paz, Carlos Fuentes and Julio Cortázar and the Latin American boom, which is encompassed by a Spanish woman by profession who in turn is a source of desire for the boys.

The first time explores the universe of adolescent sexuality, this first approach to naked body magazines, but also pleads for gender equality, popular movements and the role of women and men in this new emerging world. Maybe some of these unresolved questions in academic spaces for teens are a bit outdated, but those years are also worth reflecting on.
