“Stranger Things”: the start date of the filming of its fifth season revealed

Although the road is still long for the fifth installment of stranger things reaching the Netflix service, little by little the last season of this hit series is taking shape. It was revealed that the new episodes will start filming in the middle of the year. This was revealed by David Harbour, one of its protagonists, who in the fiction brings Jim Hopper, the chief of the Hawkins Police Department, to life.

Port announced that the series created by the Duffer brothers will begin filming its fifth season next June. The actor made the announcement during the Middle East Film & Comic Con, which took place this weekend in Abu Dhabi. During this meeting, David did not hide the mixed feelings he feels after the inevitable outcome of the series, which will intervene with his next opus.

“I still have a few months to train. However, we start shooting in June, and it will be the last season. I trained a lot for the fourth season. He (Hopper) was in a very specific position, this Russian prison. It was about making him a different guy and getting rid of a layer of himself physically, mentally and emotionally. Now he’s back in America, where they have cheeseburgers, so he’ll be well fed,” he said.

During the meeting with fans and the press, Harbor did not give many details about the plot of the next episodes, although he confirmed the return of his character, who in the fourth part spent the whole season in a Russian prison. The exact release date of this latest installment is still unknown, but it should be in the second half of 2024.

A few days ago, the streaming platform announced that together with the creators of the show, it will produce a new project Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a prequel spin-off set in Hawkins in 1959, less than 25 years before the popular series. “It will feature younger versions of Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado, as well as new student Henry Creel (aka Vecna) who has just come to town.”
