More than 20 terrorists were killed alongside Nasrallah, according to Israel

Seven senior leaders of the Lebanese Islamist movement have been killed in Israeli strikes in just over a week

The Israeli military said Sunday that “more than 20 other terrorists” from Hezbollah were killed in Friday’s bombing of the Lebanese Islamist movement’s headquarters on the southern outskirts of Beirut that claimed the life of its chief Hassan Nasrallah.

“More than 20 other terrorists of different ranks who were in the Beirut subway headquarters, located under civilian buildings and who directed Hezbollah’s terrorist operations against the State of Israel, were likewise eliminated,” it said in a statement.

Several Hezbollah leaders were killed alongside Nasrallah in the so-called “New Order” operation, Israel said, noting that most of the organization’s senior leaders were killed in Israeli operations in recent months.

The Israeli army also said on Sunday that it had killed Nabil Kaouk, deputy head of Hezbollah’s Central Council, in an air strike on Saturday.

The Islamist group confirmed his death, making him the seventh senior Hezbollah leader killed in Israeli strikes in just over a week, including founding members who had evaded death or arrest for decades.
