“… lack of security, incomplete sentences, pronunciation of the same word in different contexts and changes in pronunciation; the sentences have a grammatical order in English and the order was missing; Mr. John Nelson Poulos said he understood but listening to the official translator, there are some rather confusing sentences; she didn’t let the prosecutor finish the sentence so she could translate it correctly, she didn’t have a good pronunciation in English,” the defense attorney for the alleged Trespalacios killer said.

According to the defendant, more than 300 translated words did not correspond to the reality of what he was saying the attorney general’s office during the impeachment hearing, for which he said that “it was the state that had to provide him with a suitable translator”.

Furthermore, he pointed out that “there was no clarity regarding certain aspects of the legally relevant facts regarding the crime of femicide, the aggravating circumstances, certain translations of facts indicating the criminal type were omitted or ambiguous”.
