For the disappearance of a family returning from vacation from the Mexico CitySeven police officers from the Acatic municipality were arrested on Sunday night, the Jalisco Prosecutor’s Office reported.

The state attorney, Gerardo Octavio Solís Gómez, indicated that since March 25 the complaint about disappearance of the five people, including two minors; He explained that the family was traveling by road, so the area where the car could pass began to be searched.

“We have been working with the Army and in the course of the investigations, data was obtained that make the participation of some police officers from the Acatic police station very likely in the disappearance of people, for this reason the investigations were focused on this locality “, said the prosecutor.

It indicated that after documenting the facts, they obtained eight arrest warrants for forced disappearance of people, of which seven have already been completed.

Present in the operation deployed in Acatic, the prosecutor indicated that more than 200 people are working in the region, making tours of gaps and remote communities to try to locate missing persons.

They rule out theft as a mobile

Regarding the possible motive, the prosecutor pointed out that so far a robbery is ruled out: “There is an investigation folder that began days before the disappearance of these people in relation to a subject who was attacked with a firearm four days before in the city of Guadalajara and this person has a very direct employment relationship with two of the missing persons, then it is very likely that the events are related “, said the prosecutor.

The missing persons are Jimena Romo Jiménez, 24; her husband Julio Alberto Villaseñor Cabrera, 35; their daughter Julia Isabella, a year and a half; Virginia Villaseñor Cabrera, Julio’s sister, and her son, Iker, 9 years old. They were all riding in a white 2019 Mazda pickup.
