In the last minutes of this Saturday, February 27, the National Commission of Honesty and Justice (CNHJ) de Morena announced that Félix Salgado Macedonio, politician accused of sexual abuse and rape by at least three women, is not disabled as a public server.
In an official statement issued by the internal body of the political party, it was clarified that after analyzing grievances one, three and four, for which the guerrerense politician is accused, this conclusion was reached, so can participate in any internal contest to be chosen as a candidate by Morena.
They also mentioned that there is also no criminal record against Salgado Macedonio, and it was noted that the entire procedure was carried out under the presumption of innocence established in the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.
The CNHJ of Morena also indicated that Due to the offense two, it cannot be said that Félix Salgado Macedonio lacks good public fame, since all the evidence collected by the institution was based on journalistic notes.
“This commission has the power to ensure respect for the democratic principles of Morena contemplated in article 49, paragraph b), of our Statutes, for which reason it orders the National Elections Commission to correct the procedure from the stage of assessment of the candidate’s profile in the State of Guerrero, since the opinion made by the National Elections Commission does not have the necessary grounds or motivation to determine the candidacy of the citizen of reference” reads the official bulletin.
Finally, they reported that National Commission of Surveys must carry out a consultation in the state of Guerrero to assess the profile. Therefore, the result will be considered by the National Elections Commission to issue an opinion on the matter.
This opinion, which consists of 108 pages and all the evidence offered for the case, had previous resolutions where Salgado Macedonio was disqualified, as well as some votes in favor of said decision, but in the end the opposite was decided.
