Enrique Velázquez Orozco found dead, mayor of Contepec, Michoacán

Enrique Velazquez Orozco, mayor of the municipality of Contepec in Michoacan, was found lifeless after several days disappeared; His body was found by elements of the local prosecutor’s office on a property in the community of The Jackal, in the same district.

The Attorney General of the state of Michoacán (FGE) reported what happened through a statement, in which it shared that approximately at 3:30 p.m. this Monday, February 7, the lifeless body of a subject who shared characteristics with the president, who had a gunshot wound, was found.

Later, the body was transferred to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) of the entity, place where he was identified such as Enrique Velázquez Orozco, mayor of the entity, who had not been reported missing by his relatives despite the fact that he had not been seen since last Saturday, February 5.

According to the testimonies of his loved ones, it was expected that he would return by their own feet to their home, so they decided not to report their absence to the authorities.

The president’s family decided not to report his disappearance.

Also, it was reported that the State authorities are already investigating the incident, because they have moved to the place where the body was found to raise evidence that will contribute to clarifying the crime committed against the official.

This violent act against the president was carried out only four days later about what four men were murdered in Tingüindín, Michoacán, an indigenous community that is located between the towns of La Yácata and Tacátzcuaro.

The bodies of the victims were found with obvious traces of torture on the chest and head, in addition to bullet wounds, which could have caused the death of the four victims.

Likewise, the state authorities reported that one of the people who were found dead was carrying military style tactical clothing; the four corpses were transferred to Semefo to perform necropsies, which will help the investigations in the case.

In another incident, on January 27, an armed commando riddled seven people on the colony El Porvenir, Zamora, incident in which five men and two women were killed in a canteen known as The blue House.

The authorities have not given more information about the case.

According to information provided by state authorities, the assassins would have come to the place to take a man with the intention of deprive him of his liberty, before which their presumed relatives tried to prevent.

After being rebuked by civilians, the subjects activated their weapons against the victims, who lost their lives on the spot as a result of the injuries caused by the shots.

People who witnessed the events made a call for help to the Municipal Police of Zamora, security corporation that went to the scene to secure the perimeter.

Subsequently, the presence of security elements of the top two levels of government, as elements of the State Police and the local prosecutor’s office also appeared on the site, as well as members of the National Guard.

These security elements began an operation in the area to try to find the whereabouts of the attackers, who managed to flee the place aboard a vehicle; No arrests were recorded for the events.
