In Mexico City (CDMX), a woman was arrested after she poured solvent on her husband and set him on fire, leaving him severely burned and sending him to the hospital, allegedly after fighting because he would not give her more money.
The woman, identified as Damaris ‘N’, was captured by agents of the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC), who helped put out the fire that was burning the man.

The SSC issued a statement on this case and detailed that the events occurred on the corner of 164 Oriente and Norte 25 streets, in the Moctezuma Segunda Sección neighborhood, in the Venustiano Carranza district.
The 36-year-old man requested support from the police officers who were doing a security patrol in the area; he informed them that he had an argument with his wife and, suddenly, he threw a solvent on her body and threw a lit match at her, which caused burns.
Officers requested medical support and paramedics determined that the injured man should be taken to a hospital because he had second-degree burns on his abdomen.
The 38-year-old woman responsible for the attack was detained and presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
