The Mexican women’s national team, led by Pedro López, tied their Colombian counterparts on Tuesday at the León stadium, a result that allowed them to be crowned in the Women’s Revelations Cup, given that it was the yellow card criterion which allowed them to get the title.

The match had a semi-slow start, with both teams trying to do some damage against the rival booth, but it all stayed in, so the scoreline stood still.

Colombia surprised the Mexican team, after having an approach goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago made a mistake in her position inside the box, which Catalina Usme took advantage of by shooting from outside the box to make 1-0 on the scoreboard.

Seeing themselves down on the scoreboard, El Tri reacted, put the pressure on them and on minute 21 they equalized at one point when Stephany Mayor finished a cross from the left to send the ball into the net.

Gradually, the Aztec team looked more disturbing in front of the South American team’s goal, they had options they couldn’t materialize, so the tie stood on the blackboard.

The game gradually picked up its pace, both teams generated dangerous arrivals, although the most incisive was Mexico, but the coffee defensive sector knew how to solve when necessary.

The Mexican national team was about to take the lead when Karla Nieto dove into the rivals’ area, the ball went on goal, but Carolina Arias saved virtually on the line.

In the last minutes, the Colombians put Tri in serious trouble, but they were not energetic, so in the end the match ended in a draw and with it the Aztec team won the trophy of the Cup of female revelations by having fewer yellow cards.
