Italy has registered 16,000 infections of coronavirus and 429 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health reported this Friday. For its part, the Government has announced the reopening of certain sectors in the open air from April 26.
The number of fatalities, 429, represents an increase compared to the 380 deaths registered yesterday and increases the total to 116,366 deaths since the emergency began in Italy, in February 2020.
The new infections this Friday in Italy are 15,943, about 1,000 less than yesterday, while 327,704 diagnostic tests have been done, about 8,000 more than the 319,633 the previous day.
In Italy, 3,842,079 people have been infected during the entire pandemic.
Hospital pressure continues to decrease and of the 506,738 current positives, 28,109 are hospitalized (895 less than yesterday), of which 3,366 3,417 are in intensive care units (-51).
Italy’s contagion curve shows a “slow decrease and in almost all regions the incidence falls, which is 182 per 100,000 inhabitants”, affirmed the president of the Italian Higher Institute of Health, Silvo Bursaferro, in a press conference.
Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign continues, which has already managed to inject 14,377,002 doses, while 4,273,149 people have already been immunized with the two necessary in Italy.
As for the measures, Italy will embark on the long-awaited path of reopening on April 26, with the return of schools and sectors that can be developed outdoors to avoid the virus, such as restaurants, with the intention that it be definitive.
On the other hand, as of next Monday, almost the entire country will be in the “orange” zone or of medium restrictions because the Campania region (south) will leave the “red” zone of greater restrictions, which establishes a soft confinement.
Only Valle d’Aosta (north), Sardinia (center) and Puglia (south) will remain cataloged in red.
