DUBAI, Jan 24 – Iran on Monday ruled out any U.S. preconditions for reviving the 2015 nuclear deal, including the release of American prisoners jailed in the Islamic Republic.

“Iran has never accepted any preconditions from the US … The US official’s comments on the release of US prisoners in Iran are for internal use,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed said. Khatibzadeh, at a weekly press conference.

The lead US negotiator in proxy talks with Iran on reviving the nuclear pact said on Sunday that Washington was unlikely to reach a deal with Tehran unless Tehran released US prisoners held in the Islamic Republic.
