The Spaniard has extended his advantage at the top of the world ranking thanks to Collin Morikawa’s poor performance in Abu Dhabi

Jon Rahm, fourteenth in the La Quinta (California) tournament, however, established himself in first place in the world golf ranking thanks to the fact that his immediate pursuer on the list, the American Collin Morikawa, had a disastrous performance in Abu Dhabi, where he finished in 62nd place.

With an average of 9.2980 points , Rahm, who has won 9 units so far this year, leads the list ahead of Morikawa (8.4759) , who has lost 14 since January 1.

The biggest move in the top ten affected the top-3: American Patrick Cantlay snatches third place from fellow countryman Dustin Johnson.

Belgian Thomas Pieters rises from 69th to 31st place after winning in Abu Dhabi with a single stroke advantage over Spaniard Rafael Cabrera, who goes from 161 to 102 on the list.

Sergio García is in 42nd place, gaining three places , and the Colombian Sebastián Muñoz is in 66th, losing five positions.
