Bus and train tickets that circulate in AMBA will increase by 6% from March 1, based on a new price list updated by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) published by the ‘INDEC.

In this way, the minimum ticket will have a value of $37.10 if the route is up to 3 kilometers. Other tickets will cost $41.34 for a distance between 3 and 6 kilometers; $44.52 between 6 and 12 kilometers; 47.70 pesos between 12 and 27 kilometers; and $50.88 if the route exceeds 27 kilometres.

In the case of trains, the minimum fare will be $18.02 for the Roca, Belgrano Sur, Belgrano Norte and Urquiza lines; and 23.32 pesos for the Sarmiento, Miter and San Martín lines. In addition, the same increase will apply to long-distance and regional rail services.

The government has reported that beyond these increases, the social tariff will be maintained which reaches nearly 5 million people with a 55% reduction on the ticket and the RED SUBE program.

Based on this new scheme, the Ministry of Transport has indicated that every first of the month, the values ​​of the bus and train ticket in the metropolitan area will be updated according to the inflationary index. In this sense, it will be possible to consult each update of the fee schedules on the ministry’s website.

“It is important to note that the mechanism for updating the price lists was carried out after having maintained the same value of the ticket for more than 2 and a half years, redoubling the efforts of the National State in the context of the pandemic of Covid-19. where public transport represented a fundamental tool for the transfer of essential workers, ”said the Ministry of Transport in a press release.

The national government will maintain the existing Red Sube system in AMBA, which includes 5 combinations of public transport – trains, buses, metrobus and metro – within 2 hours.
