The panorama due to the heavy rains after the presence of the cyclone ‘Yours‘ continues to harm many families. This time, a mudslide was reported in the district of llama, originally from the province of Chota, located in the department of Chota. A total of 20 communities are isolated in the area, as confirmed by the mayor of the jurisdiction.

Leonard Mendoza, mayor of Llama, requested the help of government authorities to rescue the population in danger. He also asked for the president’s help. To Boluarte with helicopters to somehow reach the citizens.

The burgomaster also clarified that the mayor of Chota has offered him food aid for tomorrow, but he was also asked to fill in some forms so that other types of aid can be granted to citizens. However, he indicated that the emergency is urgent and it is not possible to wait long.

He also mentioned that there are around 2,000 people at risk and who have only been able to communicate by phone. Therefore, the information you received is the organization of joint pots to help each other.

The affected communities are Checopon, Timón, Succha Molle, Tayapampa, Huangamarca, Succha de Huangamarca, Succha Alta and La Asunción. In these areas, it is alerted that agricultural crops have been damaged.

“There are only two people who were surprised by the mudslide in the early morning, they only have minor injuries. Some elderly people need treatment,” he said.

So far, no human loss has been reported, only material damage. In the next few hours, the arrival of some authorities is expected to attend the emergency.

The executive decided to declare Cajamarca in a state of emergency due to torrential rains.

“(…) they will execute emergency, immediate and necessary measures and actions for the response and rehabilitation of the affected areas. These actions must have a direct causal link between the interventions and the event, and can be modified according to the needs and security elements that arise (…)”, we read.

I ask you to share everything that caused the huaico so that it reaches journalists and mayors instead: the peña negra belongs to the district of chota, lama,” wrote one user.

“Llama Rumi suffered a landslide again, therefore, we are making an urgent appeal to the mayor and the authorities who can support us immediately with bags and plastic,” another user wrote.
