The Hamas terror group said Thursday that it fired a large rocket at Israel’s Ramon airport near Eilat, where inbound passenger flights were diverted after waves of rocket launches toward the main airport near Tel Aviv.

A spokesman for the Hamas armed wing announced the launch of a 250 kilogram Ayyash rocket and demanded that “all international airlines immediately stop their flights to any airport” in the Jewish state.

“We tell the enemy: your airports and all points from northern Palestine to the south are within the reach of our rockets,” said. Abu Obeida, spokesman for the armed wing of the organization.

The rocket is called Ayyash 250 in honor of the famous horror expert Yahya Ayyash, a terrorist killed in 1996 and who was Hamas’s main bomb maker.
