Femicide in Chiclayo: a minor under the age of 16 is murdered and his alleged attacker is denounced for sexual abuse

The first investigations indicate that it would be a femicide. This Saturday, February 25, a minor under the age of 16 was murdered by the man who would have been her companion and concubine, in Chiclayo. The main suspect has been identified as Santos Lorenzo Huaman Rodriguez (41) who would have riddled the teenager in a house.

According to witnesses to the event, the teenager and the alleged murderer were drinking alcohol with other friends, but the minor decided to go to the bathroom. However, Huamán Rodríguez allegedly persecuted him for committing his crime.

Helpers who were inside a house heard the help of the minor, for which they went to her aid. While her alleged attacker fled the scene to avoid arrest.

In this sense, the youngster under 16 was found with multiple cuts from sharp weapons. However, there was nothing they could do and his death was confirmed. The body was transferred to the morgue of this commune to carry out the investigations.

Huamán Rodríguez was arrested upon his arrival in the city of Jaén, Cajamarca. Before the intervention of the police, he assured that he did not have any type of romantic relationship at the present time, but before he had. Furthermore, he stated that he did not know where the minor was.

“I didn’t kill him. No, he’s not my partner, he’s not my partner anymore. It hasn’t been long (my partner). I don’t know where he is,” said the alleged femicide during his intervention.

Likewise, the rapid seizure was carried out for hours due to the geolocation of the cell phone of the alleged attacker, who remains at the Chiclayo police station. So far, the 41-year-old has decided to remain silent in front of the troops.

According to police sources, they revealed that Santos Huamán is filing two complaints for alleged sexual abuse in 2020 and the other for causing the escape of a minor. Both were dropped off by the teenager’s father in the town of Bagua.

Huamán Rodríguez was forbidden from approaching the minor, but he reportedly didn’t care and they went to live in Chiclayo.

According Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP), through the National Program for the Prevention and Eradication of Violence Against Women and Family Group Members (Aurora), revealed that in January alone, 15 femicides had been reported. 13 of whom died at the hands of their partner or ex-partner; and two unrelated.
