Since its inauguration in 2012, the Lima Metro It has become the favorite public transport of thousands of users which saves time and money to get from one place to another in the shortest time.

However, due to the large population of Lima, only a group that actually takes advantage of this service since currently the Lima Metro It only covers the road that goes from Villa El Salvador to Bayóvar, to San Juan de Lurigancho. Trip that takes less than an hour.

After the APRA’s victory in the 1985 elections, the elected president Alan Garcia Perez announced that, with the idea of taking a step closer to the modernity of new times, the first electronic train in Lima would be built.

But the economic crisis and the mistakes of the young president meant that four years later they did not deliver two kilometers from the works. It was not the promised future, but many saw it as a sign that work it wouldn’t take much longer being ready They had no idea what was coming.

After the end of the disastrous Aprista period, it was the turn of Alberto Fujimori to get power. But his agenda did not envisage continuing the work of the aforementioned electric train. The same happened with the now deported (already ordered) Alejandro Toledo. The project had become a huge white elephant that no one wanted to deal with.

Alan García had to return to the presidency for the project to resume, almost 20 years later. As in 2009, work resumed. The same that would be part of the corruption scandals that would involve the Brazilian company Odebertch years later.

Thus came the 11 of 2011, when the section between Villa El Salvador and the Miguel Grau station was finally inaugurated after 25 years. It is not until 2014 that the route it currently has will be completed.
