Ethel Pozo and Yaco Eskenazi will return with ‘My mom cooks better than yours’.

With different personalities in every way, Ethel Pozo there Yaco Eskenazi They showed that their good on-screen chemistry still worked after several years of working together. In 2017, they debuted as hosts of their first cooking show, ‘My mother cooks better than yours‘, then continued forward in ‘In this kitchen I order‘.

This 2023, the host of ‘america today‘ and the ex-captain of ‘It’s the warThey will resume the format that marked a before and after in their career as TV presenters. ‘In this kitchen I order‘ will return to Peruvian screens with a new season, this Sunday, March 5, starting at 7:00 p.m.

GlobeLiveMedia spoke with Ethel Pozo there Yaco Eskenazi of this long-awaited return, but also of certain files that keep his name on the front page of national newspapers.

Ethel, Yaco, congratulations on your return to ‘My mom cooks better than yours’. What are your impressions ?

Ethel: We are super happy to resume with this format that we feel that people carry in their hearts. We have prepared an incredible program. We’re the face, but there’s a team behind it that really put a lot of effort into making the program beautiful and entertaining.

Yaco: Yes, really super happy with this return. May the mothers return to the kitchen where this beautiful relationship between mother and son takes place. We know artists, but seeing them in the hands of their mother in a kitchen changes everything. And that’s, let’s say, what motivates us to come back with this format.

Which mother and son or mother and daughter couple will we see this Sunday?

Ethel: This Sunday, there is Edson Dávila with his mother Ilmer and Michelle Soifer with her mother Cathy. They are cute.

Yaco: Having Edson anywhere, you’re already guaranteed to have a laugh. Edson is pure gunpowder and his mother Ilmer is the most peaceful and calm person in the world. And Michelle, who is a naughty, makes the program evolve very well.

On the other hand, this Thursday March 2, Yaco appeared on ‘América Hoy’ and clashed with Ethel on the question of Shakira and Pique, how do you manage these differences as motor partners?

Ethel: We’re friends, we’ve become friends over these six years together. There are times when I just ‘america today‘ running to record and Yaco says to me ‘but how did you say that, such a thing’. And I tell him ‘this is my point of view’. And it’s like in this case, I don’t think you found out… Some time ago I said that the man (Piqué) brought Clara Chía to his house. And he says to me “oh, I’m not so aware, but I don’t think”. There are different points of view, always as friends, as it happens at home. We laughed to death again.

Yaco: That’s right, it’s called tolerance. I believe people don’t have to be alike or think alike to get along. Ethel and I often disagree about certain things.

Mainly with the Shakira theme, it made you sparkle, Yaco…

Yaco: I really didn’t follow the whole story. I don’t know what he (Pique) did. What I stand for is family and that gives me something that (Shakira) is so explicit in how she tells her side of the story. That’s what it seems to me. But that doesn’t mean I don’t listen to her favorite songs, but that one isn’t my favorite. But well, surely now he will write me an email or call me. He will say to me: ‘Yaco, what are you talking about, my friend? Let’s meet on the boardwalk to talk’ (laughs).

Ethel: She is very hurt by your statements.

Yaco: I really disagree, but that doesn’t mean I agree with what he did, of course. I defend the family, I defend my children, I defend my wife, I devote myself to them and my life is for them. I would never defend a man who hurts his family, ever.

By the way, Ethel, congratulations on your appearance on ‘maricucha 2‘. Do you feel any pressure being Michelle Alexander’s sister-in-law?

Ethel: No, since I was little, I didn’t know when because I’ve been on television sets with my mother since I was right, but I always wanted to devote myself to it. So no, I don’t feel any pressure. Obviously I want her to like my job, I want her to like it, to be happy because TV and the industry is a business and the business has to pay you back, so I would love that.

So, it’s a dream you’ve been chasing for a long time…

I think I’ve been dreaming of this opportunity since 2015-16, when I did my first casting for ‘Mi amor el Guachimán 2’, which was also with Cristian Domínguez. This did not happen at the time. That’s why I’m very happy. When I left school, what I wanted to be was an actress, precisely, but life has taken me in many paths and I will never say no to work, ever. They call me from the theatre, from the radio, I will always say yes, I stay at home doing nothing? This is not mine. I want to give this example to my daughters too, to work hard.

Good and bad reviews will never fail. How do you take them?

Happy, happy, I will always be grateful. When there are reviews, it generates more audience, I don’t know if it’s on purpose or not, but it generates more viewers… and I think that’s what happened with the premiere of ‘Aphrodite.

An answer to your detractors?

I will always wish the best for people, everyone, and I will be grateful that they take the trouble to talk about me, always. It’s my way of seeing life, I don’t ask myself why, but for what, and I’m here to generate something, emotion. So I’m happy, my heart is exploding with emotion and my family is also supporting me.

And speaking of criticism, Melissa Paredes mentioned on her show that she didn’t like you crying at all for the ampay she starred in because she felt you wanted to leave her in a bad light. Is it true ?

I have always said, year after year, that I monitor my program, my work. I am very critical of myself. I get and listen to criticism, but I don’t respond to people because I believe the job is there. I hate victimization, always. When the robbery happened to me recently, and I said good, it’s the first time I have to go out because I wanted to get my daughters’ picture and my visa back, and I left giving this painful testimony. But I don’t like feeling sorry or victimizing myself. My job is to entertain, to do my best, to make people smile, so that’s what I’m here for. Responding to people is not my thing.

Now, Yaco, have you thought about resuming your acting career?

Yeah, I’m just in talks for a play. I always liked to play. But as Ethel says, she’s been waiting since 2015 for an opportunity. Sometimes people think everything is easy for us and it’s not necessarily the case, these are times and times to be enjoyed. If they call me, I’m happy, I like to play, I like to work… I don’t know if I like to work, I’m actually a bit lazy, but I have to work because I have two kids and I have a wife who will beat me if I don’t move.

I spoke with Efraín Aguilar and he mentioned that, of all the boys in reality, you surprised him with your talent, he wanted to work with you…

I kiss you Efraín. The first thing I did as an actor was with Efraín Aguilar in ‘That’s life‘, I did a casting. I had been there for two seasons and that’s when I definitely decided to put aside the dream I had of being a footballer and dedicate myself to comedy. Thank you very much for these words and I send you a big hug. It is thanks to him that I am here today and that I am making a name for myself in this world to which we belong today.

Of ‘That’s life‘you went to’It’s the war‘. About the competition reality show, do you think it is coming to an end?

Not necessarily, I think that TV is changing, the public is changing too. Today, ‘It’s the war‘ is still prime time, people keep watching it. I wouldn’t dare say it’s already in decline or I wouldn’t dare say it will last a lifetime. I was recently asked why I am in so many programs… There is one person who is in charge of deciding. Whether I’m here or not, they’re analyzing this. The same thing happens with ‘It’s war. I just want everyone to have a job and be able to follow their dreams like I did.

You surprised to be the third driver of ‘you are in everything‘. Now do you see a third digit in ‘My mother cooks better than yours?

Yaco: Never, no, I think we’re still fine, we’re perfect. They won’t bring me boring Edson, though he’d have a ballsy fun if he popped up every now and then saying one of his thanks.

Ethel: And that we didn’t even get sick (laughs). I think really, Yaco and I take great care of our work, we don’t even get sick, we’ve never been away, we’re still here, but hey, like Jaco said, it’s determined by the producers, it does not depend on us. We will be as long as the public allows us.
