Edomex elections risk becoming state elections: Alejandra del Moral

Alejandra del Moral, Coalition Va Por México candidate for governor of the State of Mexico, warned that the June elections could become state elections, for which she called for the unity of political forces and civil society.

In front of more than 20,000 PRD members, Jesús Zambrano Grijalva, national president of the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), protested against Alejandra del Moral as a candidate for the governorship of Edomex, which is part of the coalition with the National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).

In her speech, the current PRD candidate stressed that Sol Azteca is courageous, serious and firm, that she faced adversity with a progressive spirit and that she looks to the future with more rights and freedoms, “it is the coherent left that fought for the causes of the people, we agree that we must fight for social justice”.

Alejandra del Moral stressed that the coalition is inclusive and moving forward to build a better future for the people. “Today, united, we go further, in the State of Mexico, we are convinced that we are all necessary, we need the best of the PRD, this PRD that has awakened consciences”, he said. concluded.

For his part, the national leader of the PRD described it as a memorable day for the State of Mexico and the country. “For the first time, a woman will lead the fight so that the State of Mexico does not fall into the hands of those who destroy the country, and of course it is the time of women.”

Zambrano Grijalva showed his full support for Alejandra del Moral and said that for the first time the PRD is presenting itself in a broad coalition of four parties to challenge the government of the State of Mexico “and the one who will lead us in era has spirit, courage, vigor and enough commitment to lead this historic competition.”

He pointed out that Del Moral is very clear on what needs to be done for there to be democratic governance and in this scenario people have a better quality of life in the state. He mentioned that the June 4 elections, in the states of Coahuila and the State of Mexico, will be the great gateway to 2024.

“In the State of Mexico, we will open the great door to 2024 in a broad alliance, in political and social unity so that we can redirect the course of the country; and also a great strength for us as a coalition,” he stressed.

In this sense, he trusted that with Alejandra del Moral, victory in the entity will be achieved because “we have everything to fight a victorious battle and put an end to the autocratic dictatorial demands of June 4”.

He warned activists that the electoral process risked becoming a state election, for which he called for the unity of political forces and civil society. He said that there is a commitment to install a coalition government with a progressive program of high social commitment, to advance on the path of democratization of power.

According to the PRD, the event brought together national and state leaders, federal and local MPs, national and state party leaders as well as coalition leaders.

In view of Alejandra del Moral’s warning, the State’s Institutional Revolutionary Party announced that it would file a new complaint with the electoral authorities, for the illegal promotion of Morena’s candidate, Delfina Gómez, on the site Internet of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), in the middle of the process of electing the governor of the entity.

The party’s head of state, Eric Sevilla, has made it clear that he will not allow interference by the federal government, or any of its officials, in the Mexican electoral process and will be careful to denounce any abuse or interference that violates the Contest Fairness Terms; “If they demand a flat floor, they are ready to respect it.”
