The President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lassotested positive for covid for the second time, which is why he will maintain medical isolation and work from home, the presidential press secretary reported on Saturday.

The announcement of the president’s illness comes days after he began a recovery process for a fractured fibula, already treated by specialists.

To start the impeachment process, a request supported by the signatures of 46 legislators is required, so that it can then be examined by the Constitutional Court, which must assess whether the request is formal and duly motivated.
