This Friday, the Government Secretariat of Bogotá reported through a statement on its verified Twitter account that violent protests have taken place at dawn in the Portal of the Americas area.
The secretariat said that representatives of the Mayor’s Office tried through dialogue to de-escalate tensions in the area, but it was not possible and several people have been throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at the Portal of the Americas.

The riot police, Esmad, has had to intervene in the area to reestablish public order and prevent damage to the Transmilenio bus station.
So far, the authorities do not report injuries or deaths or people arrested in the framework of these protests early Friday.
