The National Health Commission of China announced today the detection of 25 new positives of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 this Sunday, among them, three local infections in the province of Anhui (east) and two in Liaoning (northeast).

The province of Anhui detected two local cases last Thursday after the country accumulated three weeks without infections of this type, to which we must add another three last Friday.

Meanwhile, in Liaoning province, two local cases were recorded on Friday and four on Saturday.

The official media indicated that preliminary investigations suggest that one of the two infected on Thursday in Anhui had contact with a traveler from abroad in the northeastern city of Dalian – in Liaoning, where the second outbreak has occurred – and later infected the second case.

Since Thursday, authorities have restricted the mobility of residents in the affected areas and are conducting massive nucleic acid tests.

As for the remaining 20 cases announced today, foreign travelers were diagnosed in Zhejiang (southeast, 8), Shanghai (east, 6), Guangzhou (south, 4), Hunan (center, 1) and Sichuan (center , 1).

On the other hand, the health authorities also reported today the detection of 17 new asymptomatic infections (all of them, “imported”), although Beijing does not include them as confirmed cases unless they manifest symptoms.

The total of this type of infections under observation is 347, of which 331 come from other territories.

Likewise, the National Health Commission detailed that, until last local midnight (16:00 GMT on Sunday), 25 patients were discharged after successfully overcoming covid-19.

Thus, the total number of active infected in mainland China stood at 291, one of which is serious.

According to the accounts of the institution, since the beginning of the pandemic, 90,872 people have been infected in the country, among which 85,945 have managed to heal and 4,636 died.

To date, 1,016,014 close contacts with infected people have been followed up, of which 6,502 continue to be observed.

In the semi-autonomous city of Hong Kong, infections have totaled 11,824 since the beginning of the pandemic, causing 210 deaths.
