Several people were killed in a shooting early Monday in the province of British Columbia, in Canada, reported by the local press.
Police had previously issued an emergency alert for several shootings in the city of Langley and asked residents to stay alert and stay away from the area of the incident.
“Multiple scenes of shooting in downtown Langley with one incident in Langley Township involving victims,” said an alert sent to the phones of British Columbians.
A Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokesman told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp that several people had been killed, but did not specify how many.
The victims were homeless and police believe the attack was targeted, according to the CBC.
Police did not immediately respond to phone calls and emails seeking comment.
