A K8 plane of the Bolivian Air Force (FAB) fell on Wednesday in a house in the city of Sacaba, in the department of Cochabamba (center), leaving at least one woman dead and one man injured.

Several witnesses said that the aircraft first circled several times in the air and then saw two pilots ejected by parachute from the plane that later exploded and fell into flames to a two-story house that was completely destroyed.

Before the firefighters arrived, the neighbors ran with buckets of water to put out the fire and help the victims, and coordinated to close all the household gas and electricity connections so that the situation did not get worse, which was highlighted by the authorities and the media.

In addition, many of the inhabitants who were close to the scene of the accident saw that the plane fell and managed to get to safety.

The damaged aircraft is a K8, a training aircraft, in which two pilots were on board and, according to some versions, the members of the Air Force would be in a practice session.

Colonel Jhonny Corrales, Departmental Commander of the Cochabamba Police, told the media that the two pilots are stable, one under medical observation in the city of Cochabamba, and the other is being questioned about the incident.

The pilots were on a training flight, reported mechanical failures and got out of the plane, he said.

Corrales also pointed out that the deceased woman and the injured man, who was transferred to a hospital in Cochabamba, were brothers and that no more victims were reported.

At the scene of the accident are aeronautical technicians from the FAB, municipal guards from Sacaba, firefighters and the Police to control and determine the causes of the accident.

In March of last year, two crew members of a Bolivian Air Force aircraft died after suffering an accident in the tropics of Cochabamba, when they were making an instruction flight.
