This year, classes will end on December 22.

IPAE Acción Empresarial, through CADE Educación 2022 and the members of its organizing committee, has proposed 10 key commitments to promote the country education with the aim of training people capable of building their life project, evolving in the digital age, exercising their citizenship, seeking their well-being in society, among others. Advertising doors from school year 2023three commitments of this decalogue must be considered as priorities for the effective start of the school year.

Although the education Minister He affirmed that the return to school will be on March 13, despite the crisis that the country is still going through, the “heroic” measures proposed by the head of sector must be considered with emphasis and in order of priority (1) socio-emotional attention ; (2) self-directed learning for hybrid environments; and (3) managers who inspire and lead.

The situation in the country once again highlights the diversity of our thoughts and the different feelings that must be adequately managed from a socio-emotional point of view. The pandemic has left behind a malaise; and the current political situation shows a country divided and threatened by violent actions that may affect the school year. We must generate confidence, so that the student achieves his school, physically and emotionally healthy. The educational community must be ready to safeguard the well-being of all; and school, resilient strategies and actions should be promoted to foster social-emotional learning.

Let’s not forget that a studentAnd teacher or a family with socio-emotional skills are better equipped to meet daily challenges, build positive personal relationships, and make informed decisions. Social-emotional learning helps children, youth and adults thrive in school and in life.

On the other hand, in a scenario as complex as the country is experiencing, face-to-face education should not be the only way to education learning. Educational institutions should be prepared to implement independent learning in students. What are these digital ecosystems that the school needs? How to approach a hybrid education in rural and peri-urban areas? These and many other questions are those that the new regional and local authorities, in close coordination with the decentralized education management bodies, must consider for the cross-sectoral and inter-institutional attention of the start of the 2023 school year.

A methodology with Autonomous learning does not replace the teacher; on the contrary, it makes it possible to assume a different role, that of companion or “coach”. The teacher will mediate on the most appropriate sources to investigate and seek information.

All this will not be possible without a manager who inspires and mobilizes the different actors and resources of the school. Let us trust in their abilities and call on that educational revolution. In the midst of a crisis that could be disastrous, for many this is an opportunity to generate change.

The educational revolution is NOW: it has no colors, no political flag. If we keep postponing it, the only thing we really lose is time and with it the chance to pass on to the next generation a better job than the one we received.
