ATU has announced that the Metropolitano’s “Lechucero” service will operate again from this Thursday

The Metropolitan’s “Lechucero” service will resume work from this Thursday, March 2, for the benefit of thousands of users, reported the Lima and Callao Urban Transport Authority (ATU).

The public transport night service will now have a new timetable and two new stops. The “Lechucero” buses will operate Thursday to Saturday from 11:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. In addition, it is planned to include UNI and Canada stations as stops on the route. During this time, the fare will remain at S/3.20, which must be paid with Metropolitan or Lima Pass cards.

The ‘Lechucero’ service will have the terminal as its initial location Matellini in Chorillos. The next stops are: the train station Boulevard in Barranco, station Ricardo Palma to Miraflores, train station Canada at La Victoria, station union street in the center of Lima, train station United in San Martín de Porres, train station Valley of Thomas at Independencia and ends its journey at the terminal Orange grove at Independence.

The return route is the same, the journey takes 57 minutes and the departure interval will be every 30 minutes.

For example, at 11:30 p.m. the first “Lechuchero” bus will leave the Matellini terminal. At 11:54 it will be at Canada station and at 00:27 at Naranjal terminal.

The ATU recalled that since February 27 the service has also been reactivated “Owl” of the Blue Corridor, which unites the neighborhoods of Miraflores and Rímac through 64 bus stops. Operating hours are Monday to Sunday from 11:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. and the bus interval is 10 minutes.

To pay for the metropolitan ticket, you must use the Metropolitan Card or Lima Pass, which must be previously recharged at the vending machines located in each metropolitan station or at the points established by the ATU, such as pharmacies, warehouses, hardware stores, bookstores, among others. In the case of Metro de Lima, the cards can be recharged at the self-service terminals located in each station.

In order to facilitate this process for the thousands of users of these public transport services, the ATU has announced that soon Payments for the passage of these means of transport can be made through digital wallets Yape and Plin.

This measure will be executed as part of the technological update of the payment system and it is expected to have the collection settlement in a few months. “This obligation will be materialized when we publish the authorization regulations and the single collection system regulations, which we hope to have ready within the next three months,” he said.
