LOS ANGELES (AP) — Anthony Davis scored 30 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, Dennis Schröder had 17 points and nine assists, and the Los Angeles Lakers moved up to ninth in the Western Conference after beating the Grizzlies 112-103 Tuesday night from Memphis.

Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves each had 17 points in the Lakers’ sixth win in eight games, which are in full swing with new additions in the transfer market despite the absence of injured LeBron James and D’Angelo Russell.

Davis turned in a superstar performance against the Grizzlies, making 11 of 17 shots and making big plays in the process.

Jaren Jackson had 26 points and Tyus Jones had 16 for Memphis, which lost for the third straight time and the second without ace Ja Morant.

Morant missed his second straight game after apparently bringing a gun to a strip club and then posting it on social media last weekend. The Grizzlies leading scorer has two open investigations in the NBA. Denver police are also reportedly investigating the case.

At halftime, the Lakers retired Pau Gasol’s number 16 in tribute to the Spanish center who played in three NBA Finals and won two rings after signing for Los Angeles in 2008 after seven seasons with the Grizzlies.
