Alejandro Speitzer has responded to those who criticized him for allegedly doing “brownface” for Joaquín Murrieta’s La cabeza series (Instagram/@alejandrospeitzer)

Alexander Speitzer was criticized for supposedly accepting that he dark skin for your character in the series The head of Joaquin Murrieta; however, he has previously denied doing “brown face” and explained why her skin looks different in said production.

In the next few days, the series of First video The head of Joaquin Murrietawhere the youngest of the Speitzer brothers plays Carrillo.

Netizens have accused on social media that both in publicity footage and in the production trailer Alex could be seen with a more tanned complexion than usual.

This caused a great controversy, they even accused him of doing brown face, which consists of a person painting their face brown, mostly to make fun of them; it is considered a practice racist.

Amid criticism, the movement dark power questioned the reason for this decision not to hire brown actors by the production company which made The head of Joaquin Murrieta.

After these comments, Alejandro appeared on the show’s red carpet on the night of February 14 and denied the accusations, he assured that people criticized him because they don’t know his character at all.

“Let everyone think what they want to think, I totally disagree Because, have you seen the show yet?” he asked the press. Considering the “no” he got, he continued: “Them neither.”

The actor defended that throughout filming, the production team took great care in the portrayal that each character would do, a job he considers “Marvellous” for the effort provided.

In addition to this, he stressed that in his opinion, it will be a series that will show the public the quality of the productions that can be made in the country.

“It’s a project that I’ve worked on with a lot of effort, with a lot of dedication and that I really want the world to see this series and see what we are capable of doing in this country, production quality is very highsaid Alexander.

The head of Joaquín Murrieta, with Juan-Manuel Bernal and Alejandro Speitzer will be launched in First video next February 17. It’s the first western be produced by Amazon. Actors Emiliano Zurita, Becky Zhu Wu, Yoshira Escárrega and Michael Wilson Morgan are also part of the cast.
