American actress Raquel Welchremembered by films such as “One Million Years BC” and to be a sex icon of the sixties, he died this Wednesday at the age of 82 following an illness.

Welch’s family confirmed the death on the Celebrity Portal TMZ and assured that the death occurred after the actress suffered “a short illness” of which no further details were given.

Daughter of a Bolivian engineer who left for the United States, Raquel Welch was born in Chicago in 1940.

His path in the entertainment industry began at the hands of Elvis Presley with a small role in “tank top” (1964) and later he would get jobs with more weight in films such as “Fantastic trip(1966).

His career took off with the prehistoric adventure of “One Million Years BC” (1966). Welch’s image and her iconic bikini cemented her status as a “sex symbol” in a tape whose promotional poster went down in cinematic history.

Her beauty and her erotic potential were taken advantage of by the industry, which created for her one of the most macho nicknames that are remembered in Hollywood: “The body”.

The actress was also part of titles such as “Lady in Cement” (1968), with Frank Sinatra and some of her most memorable tapes are the western “Hannie Caulder” (1971) and “Fathom” (1967).
