As part of the investigations stemming from the outbreak of meningitis In Durangowhich has claimed the lives of 36 people since October 2022, the State Attorney General’s Office (EGF) announced the arrest of four owners and administrators of two hospitals where the fungus that caused the disease originated disease.

They are David Erasmo “N”, Sandra Idanés “N”, Ilse Janeth “N” and José Miguel “N”, who were apprehended for their probable responsibility in the crimes of homicide and injury.

According to surveys, Jose Miguel “N” he worked as park hospital owner and, previously, he was the gynecology coordinator at the Mother and Child Hospital. Ilse Janeth “N” has been identified as his wife and companion.

On another side, David Erasmus “N” was identified as the brother of José Miguel “N” and as husband of Sandra Idanés “N”. This family, in addition to managing the Hospital del Parque, owns the Dickava Hospitalwho started his duties in 2021 and, apparently, worked without having a license.

In this medical unit, it has been registered that 11 people have been injured due to meningitis infection, which is why David Erasmo “N” and Sandra Idanés “N” are being investigated for such an offense .

Despite being brought before a judicial authority, the alleged perpetrators waived the time granted to them to prepare their defence, which is why were related to the process for the above crimes.

Until the time these updates were announced, they already added eight people arrested for his apparent responsibility for the spread of meningitis in four hospitals in Durango State.

Joaquín Gardeazabal and Guadalupe “N” have been linked to the process of the apparent intentional homicide by omissionbecause they were supposedly aware of certain irregularities at the Hospital del Parque, but they decided to end the inspections of the facilities.

Among the inconsistencies ignored by the and the former official was the Lack of proper space for medication storagein addition to not having temperature readings or pharmacy for handling medication.

Moreover, the former owner of Coprised was also linked to the process of Corruption in the modality of misuse of public servicesince their profile would be more related to work in the field of safety and not health.

The eighth implicated in the state’s meningitis outbreak is Omar “N”, who worked as an anesthesiologist at the Hospital del Parque. The main assumption of the authorities is that supposedly Omar “N” he would have used his own medication work (instead of bupivacaine distributed in a regulated manner throughout the continent) and this, coupled with poor management of it in hospitals, would have caused the proliferation of the fungus.
