Berlin, March 8. Bayern beat PSG 2-0 on Wednesday, with goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry, sealing the passage to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and another failure for the Parisian team in the most important club competition.

After a first half where Bayern, who won 0-1 in the first leg, played quite a bit behind, in the second they pressed and were much better than PSG.

The French team started the duel well and gave an early warning, at minute 2, with a good through ball from Fabián Ruiz to Kylian Mbappé, who reached the ball inside the box, but, from a hard angle, didn’t put it in lots. trouble for goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

This action was not the prelude to a two-way match, but on the contrary, the first minutes were marked by numerous duels in midfield and great caution from both teams.

Bayern took a much less daring approach than usual. He rarely resorted to high blood pressure. He was waiting for PSG near the center line and he was not taking any risks offensively.

Bayern’s first notable attacking situation was a low Leon Goretzka shot from outside the box in the 17th minute which Gianluigi Donnarumma controlled without difficulty.

The game was played by PSG and Bayern seemed to be waiting for the chance to win the back of the rival defense with a long ball and focus their efforts on trying to keep Mbappé and Lionel Messi under control.

Good action from Messi in midfield in the 20th minute allowed Mbappé to reach the box, but the ball went too far and he finished, from a tight angle, against the outside of the net.

Messi himself had a good finish in the 25th minute, but Sommer and Matthijs de Ligt rose to the challenge.

The best chance for PSG in the first half came in the 38th minute and was generated by an error from Sommer, who lost the ball trying to play. Vitinha was able to score, but De Ligt, on the line, prevented the goal.

From Bayern, there was not much to see in the opposite area in the first half. The best was a shot from Jamal Musiala that Donnarumma saved and some overflows by the wings of Kingsley Coman and Alphonso Davies whose crosses found no recipient.

After the break, Bayern seemed more ambitious. In the 51st minute, after a superb game from Musiala, he had a double chance, first at the feet of Choupo-Moting who took too long to finish then at those of Joshua Kimmich, whose shot hit Choupo -Moting, who he was offside.

In the 52nd minute, Choupo-Moting scored with a header, but his goal was disallowed for Müller’s offside.

Bayern opted for pressing from PSG and thus managed to get ahead on the scoreboard. Marco Verrati missed at the entrance to the area, Goretzka played with Choupo-Moting and he scored from close range.

After the goal, PSG wanted to react and in the 65th minute they managed to equalize with a header from Sergio Ramos in front of which Sommer reacted with a nice save.

Bayern still withdrew a bit, albeit more active than in the first half, and PSG had situations from the box and another header from Ramos, also slightly deflected, from another corner.

Bayern were in danger with counterattacks and in one of them, in the 89th minute, Joao Cancelo found Serge Gnabry, whom he condemned with a shot inside the box.
