Epic Games is preparing the start of Season 7 for Fortnite: it will be activated on June 8th. Before you can take a look at the changes and innovations, Fortnite will first go offline on Tuesday.
As before every new season, a downtime of several hours is to be expected this time. Concrete details about the maintenance work will probably only follow on Monday evening. However, the developers have already revealed the first details about the Fortnite Update 17.00, which will be available for download at the launch of Season 7.
In a recent blog entry, Epic Games goes into the graphics improvements that PC gamers in particular can look forward to.
“By choosing the epic graphics settings on a computer that meets the system requirements, you can experience new and expanded effects as well as improved post-processing functions and a higher shadow quality,” the developers promise for the Fortnite Update 17.00.
If you select the setting, you will notice improved storm and cloud effects in the battle royale and creative mode. In addition, advanced smoke and liquid simulations are promised. “You can expect cooler-looking explosion, fire and slurp juice effects,” add the developers.
The changes also include improved post-processing functions (bloom and lens flares) and higher shadow quality.
It should be noted that the “High” option from Fortnite Update 17.00 corresponds to the previous “Epic” setting. The options “low” and “medium” as well as the alpha performance mode remain the same in version V.17.00.
